Every year, on May 8th, people all over the country celebrate National Have a Coke Day, which coincides with the 138th anniversary of Coca-Cola.
To celebrate this special day, World of Coca-Cola offers a massive ticket discount to Atlanta locals and tourists.
Individuals can purchase general admission tickets for $13.80 each on Wednesday, May 8th. This offer is valid for one day only and applies to tickets purchased on that date for visits through June.

If you remember, I shared my first impressions about the
2024 Toyota Crown
and how it returned to the US after a 51-year hiatus!
We reunited during a Toyota party at the
Atlanta Botanical Garden
I recently attended this week.
Also, while at the event, I was introduced to the first-ever
2025 Crown Signia, the crossover hybrid SUV.
The first impression that caught my eye about the Signia was how stylish
and sporty it was. It's definitely an eye-catcher!
You know I'm all about legroom and space to store my belongings. With the
Crown Signia, there is enough legroom for passengers, even tall ones, and
the trunk has ample space; plus, you can fold the back seats for more
room.
The Crown Signia is perfect for families and road trips. It can handle all
the towing we need.
Another thing I noticed is the shift gears are similar to
Lexus
with the park push-button. I'm not a big fan of that, but you get used to it
after a while.
And about the party! It was decorated beautifully with Alice in Wonderland
topiary-like mosaiculture sculptures surrounding the vehicles, providing a
perfect backdrop for my photos.
There was a bloom cart to create floral crowns and bouquets, music from an
award-winning violinist, tea party-inspired food, refreshments, and a
dessert bar.
It was a fantastic event to preview both Crown vehicles and mingle with
fellow Atlanta bloggers and influencers to usher in May!

Moms deserve all the pampering in the world, and
with Mother’s Day approaching, I thought you might be interested in an
inexpensive way to do that and create an at-home spa for her. Just get
some Epsomsalt, and it will help give Mom a
well-deserved break. Doctors say it might even improve her health.
Here’s how:
For Pampering
EpsomSalt
can be used to create the ultimate at-home spa, and it’s something
several experts and celebrities recommend to help look and feel better. A
relaxing bath or exfoliating treatment will leave your skin radiant and
glowing.
Tips include:
Glowing skin exfoliating treatment: Mix 2 cups of EpsomSalt
with 1/4 cup of petroleum jelly and a few drops of lavender essential
oil. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
Microdermabrasion Facial: Mix 1/2 TSP of EpsomSalt into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin. Rinse with cool water. Pat dry.
Bathtime Bliss: Add two cups of EpsomSalt
to the water in a standard-sized bathtub; soak for at least 12 minutes,
three times weekly. For an extra treat, add a few drops of eucalyptus
oil for a refreshing
scent.
Pedicure Perfection: Dissolve a half cup of EpsomSalt
into two quarts of warm water. Pour the water into a container and soak
your bare feet for fifteen to twenty minutes. For an extra treat, add
a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent. Massage the
entire foot with EpsomSalt
concentrating on the heels and ankles to remove any dry, rough spots.
Then, rinse your feet off with clean tap water and dry them thoroughly.
Homemade bath crystals: Mix two cups of EpsomSalt
with a few drops of fragrance to create a custom bath crystal. Add a
few drops of food coloring or 1/2 TSP of glycerin if you like. Store in
an air-tight
container.
After Exercising/Boosting Magnesium Levels
Tips include:
To ease muscle pain and fading bruises. Add two cups of EpsomSalt to warm water in a standard-sized bathtub (double the EpsomSalt for an oversized garden tub) and bathe three times weekly, soaking
for at least 12 minutes. Also can be used to make compresses.
To soothe feet aching from a tough workout or a long day, add a cup of EpsomSalt to a tub of warm water and soak them.
Those soaks could also boost your body’s level of
magnesium – a nutrient that experts say helps your body produce its main
source of energy and impacts at least 300 enzyme systems. Over the past
century, experts say the amount of magnesium
we consume in our diets has dropped by about 60 percent, but here are
some tips from doctors and researchers who say soaking in Epsomsalt can increase your body’s level of magnesium.

When we travel to the mountains, we escape the hustle and bustle of Atlanta
to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors and marvel at the scenic
views.
Usually, my family takes our vacation in either
Pigeon Forge
or
Gatlinburg, Tennessee, but this year, we went to another side of the smokies.
For a two-day getaway, my family and I stayed at the
Historic Tapoco Lodge,
nestled on the banks of the Cheoah River in Robbinsville, North
Carolina.
This hidden gem has been a mainstay for outdoor adventurers, gearheads, and
nature enthusiasts since 1930. It is located on the peaceful side of the
Great Smoky Mountains, with few tourists, so you'll have a relaxing getaway
from all the crowds and noise.
I live 30 minutes north of Atlanta, so the drive to Robbinsville, NC, took
about 3 hours. So, traveling from Atlanta would be 3 1/2 hours.
The drive up the mountains was a thrilling adventure, especially when
navigating through Nantahala National Forest and the winding roads of the
Tail of the Dragon, a favorite among motorcyclists and sports car
drivers.
We were wide-eyed when we arrived at our destination, looking at the lodge right
off the road; it was such a stunning sight with 360-degree views! I love
older-style buildings with character, and this hotel has colonial-style red
brick architecture.
Upon entering, the classic decor is prominent throughout, and the sweet
scent of maple-pecan fills the air, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere
that feels like home.
Guest Rooms
Historic Tapoco Lodge has
several guest rooms to choose from. They offer nine elegantly furnished
rooms and suites in the lodge and 18 cabins throughout the 120-acre
property.
Only two adults can be in a room, so we got two rooms, one for Mr. M and me
and one for my daughters. Since each room has only a king-size bed, our daughters took the suite that had a living room so one of them could sleep
on the couch.
Our guest rooms, called Laurel and Rhododendron, which are named after
flowers, are beautifully decorated with a retro twist.
I love the exposed bricks and pipes detailing, the classic-style
refrigerators and microwaves, and our favorite, the black and white tiles in
the bathrooms. And boy, the bathrooms are a room in itself; it's
enormous!
The rooms offer comfort, with plush beds, cozy seating, and breathtaking
river views in each suite. Our stay was a tranquil retreat, and the girls
loved having their own suite! But we were just across the hallway, keeping a
watchful eye on them.
And heads up, there is no elevator, and the guest rooms are on three
floors, so you must carry your luggage up the stairs. So, I suggest to pack
light. But I'm sure someone from the lodge can help you take your belongings
to your room.
I noticed one room on the first floor, the Evergreen, for those needing an
accessible room.
Another thing to note is that the lodge rooms are for adults only; however,
some of the cabins are family-friendly.
Dining
Several dining options
at the lodge include an on-site tavern, fine dining on the weekends, and
breakfast served daily. The on-site tavern offers a casual dining experience
with various American fare, including burgers, pizzas, nachos, wings, and
quinoa bowls. The fine dining option on weekends provides a more upscale
experience.
Breakfast is served daily and includes various options to suit all tastes.
I tried all three dining options, and our meals were scrumptious! We didn't need to leave
the property to find something to eat; Tapoco Lodge had meal options that
everyone enjoyed.
I had the Rustic Chicken Marsala on the first night, which was my favorite. The
chicken was topped with a savory garlic mushroom sauce and served with a potato
cake.
The Tapoco Tavern offers indoor and outdoor seating along the river for a
delightful dining experience.
Amenities
And let's remember all of the activities! Tapoco Lodge offers diverse options,
from tennis and basketball to axe throwing and pickleball.
There's rafting, kayaking, and mountain biking for the more adventurous
types. And for those seeking relaxation, there are spa services and 15
hiking trails to explore.
We attempted a couple of hiking trails, but our shoes were unsuitable for
hiking. The path was filled with puddles, and we didn't want to damage our
footwear.
Next time, we need to have good pairs of hiking boots.
Also, the lodge offers several weekly events to keep guests entertained.
These include live music performances, movie nights, and guided
hikes.
These events are a great way to meet other guests and make the most of your
stay at Tapoco Lodge.

Lauren has decided on the next chapter of her life after high school.
She will follow the family's footsteps in the beauty industry to become an esthetician. She will attend one of the top beauty schools, Paul Mitchell, The School of Esani in Roswell, Georgia!
I'd been holding onto this news until her current high school made the announcement.
She gets asked what made her decide to be an esthetician?
And she always says it's because of our mother and daughter's monthly facial dates at our MedSpa. She loves getting facials and how they help improve her skin and confidence.
If you've been following me for a while, you know that I speak about my skincare journey regularly and share how much I love getting Hydrafacials.
I wasn't taking this skincare journey alone; Lauren went along from the beginning in 2021. Her favorite treatments are microdermabrasion and light peels.
Lauren is passionate about improving skin health and appearance and would love to help others achieve their skincare goals.
She hopes to someday open her own MedSpa. But first, she must go to school and pass the state board exams, and Paul Mitchell would help her get the necessary education, prepare her to ace the test, and kick-start her career.
We toured Paul Mitchell a couple of times, but on the first tour, we knew that it would be the best school for her.
I love the diversity of the students and how they all seemed happy to be there. I can tell that Lauren will meet life-long friends there.

Lauren will learn hands-on techniques and theory in various skincare procedures, including hair removal, waxing, brow design, makeup, facials, facial massage, facial machines, and skin therapy. She will also learn about Hydrafacials!
To complete the school program, Lauren must do 1000 hours, so if she sticks with it full-time, she can be done within a year!
You all just don't know how proud I am of Lauren!
I can't wait until she starts giving me facials, and I'll be her first client and the one she'll practice on.
Thanks to her, she'll help me better understand skincare and learn more about which products on the market are the best to use. This will significantly help me as I share my experience with different skincare products.
And hey, you never know; you may even see her skincare products in stores, just like her dad's haircare line is in stores now.
I admire how children see their parents as role models and are influenced by them throughout their lives. Similar to how I looked up to my dad, who had a passion for cars, I also share the same interest.
My dad worked as a regional manager for Enterprise and Avis rental car companies when I was a young child, often driving new cars home.
He would ask me my opinion on which cars he should drive next, and I loved being in the passenger seat of all these new cars he would bring home, and his love for cars passed down to me.
I know I haven't reviewed new cars lately because I've been enjoying the new Highlander I recently bought, but I'll get back to it soon. It doesn't feel the same without being in the most incredible new vehicles.

Summer is coming up, so you know what that means, the season of travel. You may find yourself wondering if you should rent a property on your vacation, rather than staying in a hotel. If you’re trying to decide which option will work better for your trip, here’s some information to help you.
Understanding Your Options
Most people imagine vacation rentals to be beach houses and Victorian mansions. However, these are only a few of the vacation rental options available in most destinations. You can rent apartments, quaint villas or even a treehouse.
Hotels tend to have a lot of the same features and amenities. There’s usually a pool and maybe a continental breakfast. While hotels don’t come in nearly as many styles as vacation rentals, you can make your reservations and rest assured that you know exactly what you’ll be getting.
The Advantages
Vacation rentals typically offer more space and privacy, and they might cost less per night than a nice hotel. You will likely have access to a full kitchen, laundry facilities and actual closets. For properties that are part of a complex (like townhouses or condos), there may also be additional amenities, such as tennis courts, workout centers and maybe even a golf course.
Hotels may offer concierge service, room service, exercise options like a pool or workout center, and deals on local attractions. You also have the option of daily maid service, so you won’t have to worry about cleaning the bathroom or washing dishes.
The Disadvantages
Single-family homes often don’t have the same range of amenities that you would find at a good hotel or in a condo or resort rental. There probably won’t be any in-house restaurants and you may need to provide certain personal items, including sheets and towels. Your check-in date may also be less flexible than it would be with a hotel.
For hotels, even the nicest has a lack of privacy (you can hear your neighbors through the walls). You may have access to maid service, but keep in mind that you may not even use it, especially if you’re only staying a few days.

Making the choice if you have a large group, a vacation rental may be a more appropriate choice, simply because there is extra room for everyone to stay together. There is a new Korean BBQ in town called Thrill Korean Steak & Bar! And when I saw the sign on the new building in Buford, in The Exchange shopping center, I knew I needed to check them out. Plus, since it's in my area, I like to try each new food establishment at least once to give my support.
I'm not going to lie; when I read the Thrill Korean Steak & Bar sign on the building, I thought it would be like a steakhouse.
Honestly, I wish it was. The reason is that there are so many Korean BBQs all over Duluth and Suwanee, and now trickling into Buford.
It's not that I don't like Korean BBQs; I actually eat at different locations with my family three times a month because it's so good and fulfilling. I just wanted a new Korean dining experience and style of cuisine.
I visited Thrill Korean Steak & Bar with my youngest daughter during their soft opening weekend. Walking inside, I loved the sophisticated atmosphere and the dark, contemporary, modern decor. The perfect setting for date nights and parties.
When we arrived at our table, I found out it was a Korean BBQ since there were grills at each table.
Then, looking at the menu, I saw that it was an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. I try to avoid all-you-can-eat Korean BBQs because they are notorious for serving poor-quality meats.
But we were already seated, so I kept an open mind and did not try to be biased.
When I looked at the menu, I noticed a variety of unmarinated and marinated proteins, including beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and calamari, as well as a wide selection of appetizers.
And I can't forget the sides! A great selection of side dishes that automatically serve at your table.
So, everything on the menu, including soft drinks, sides, appetizers, and proteins, are all included for $45 per person (Dinner Price). A good price! And you can eat up to 2 hours, giving you plenty of time to try out all the foods.
Now, a la carte items like fried rice, wings, and desserts are on the menu for an extra fee. (I've never seen dessert options at Korean BBQs).
Now, it's time to eat!
We could only choose two proteins at a time, and the protein size is the number of people at your table; for example, we picked marinated Galbi, and our server brought out two slices of beef ribs and then cut them up on the grill.
This goes for all meats, like the thinly sliced briskets, which are enough for how many guests you have at your table.
But no worries, you can keep ordering proteins over and over for two hours, and to be honest, I was full way before that time.
My favorite meats on the menu are the marinated Galbi bone-in, Beef Belly, Beef Bulgogi, Cajun shrimp, and Beef Brisket.
And I was very impressed with the quality! These meats are premium, just more thinly sliced and in smaller portions. The marinated meats are seasoned very well and full of flavor.
The service is excellent, and I noticed that the servers work as a team. I sometimes had a few servers helping with food requests and cooking our food on the grill so there wouldn't be any wasted time.
Due to this, you'll notice the servers running around different tables a lot. This restaurant is definitely fast-paced.
Remember my concern about the meat quality since it's an all-you-can-eat establishment?
I met the owner, and she assured me that the meat quality would stay the same, just like her popular Sandy Springs location, which has been around for several years.
That's great to know. I now have a new Korean BBQ spot to add to my growing list of favorites.
I noticed that Thrill appears more Americanized and doesn't quite offer the actual Korean BBQ experience. Even the majority of diners eating there seemed to be Americans.
I mention this because, in my experience, seeing other Koreans dining at a Korean restaurant is a good sign that you're getting an authentic experience. Therefore, I would recommend Thrill for those who are just starting to explore Korean cuisine.
And even if you are a Korean BBQ enthusiast like myself, it's still a great place to eat. I even went for a second time during the grand opening weekend with both of my daughters in tow, and they loved it!
Good food, excellent service, and fun experience! I highly recommend it!

Entertainment in the Park
Many cities have free concerts in major parks during the more temperate
seasons, whether you know it or not. In addition, many cities offer free
open-air movie screenings, plays, and many other forms of entertainment, all free and
family-friendly. Check into what is shown in your hometown and make a day of
it with the kids. Pack a picnic basket and some great blankets to snuggle up
after the sun goes down and spend some quality time together for this fun
staycation day.
A Day at the Beach
Just because you are not traveling to Caribbean's, that does not mean you
cannot catch any rays at all. If you live near the ocean, take the kids for
a day at the beach. Do not forget to bring along all the necessary tools to build a sandcastle and a great umbrella to provide some shade. Pack your
picnic basket and head out; it will be a staycation to remember!
Visit the Farmer’s Market
There is nothing tastier than a dinner that includes fresh veggies from
your local farmer’s market. Take the kids along to explore all the different
offerings, and let them carry your reusable shopping bag while picking out
the produce for that evening’s dinner. Farmer’s markets offer a wide variety
of locally sourced, naturally grown produce that may not be available in
your grocery store, so making a field trip to yours is definitely worth
it.
Family Movie Marathon
Make a point to spend the whole day (and maybe all night) in your PJs,
watching your favorite family films. Introduce your kids to the classics
from your childhood and include some of their favorites. Toss in fun bowls
of popcorn and some beanbag chairs, and you have a staycation idea that
everyone will love.
You do not have to get away on vacation; you can have a wonderful time with
your family in your own home without extra expense!

Forget The Filler Lip-Plumping Gloss is available in small and queen sizes. This high-shine gloss plumps up your lips without causing any stinging or irritation, thanks to the Shea Butter and Rosehip Oil in its formula.
When applied, it gives a soothing, lightly cooling sensation, and I immediately noticed a difference in my lips. Juicier, plump, with a hint of shiny cherry shade. No stickiness like other lip glosses I've tried.
The gloss lasts long, even when eating.
