with Mother’s Day approaching, I thought you might be interested in an
inexpensive way to do that and create an at-home spa for her. Just get
some Epsomsalt, and it will help give Mom a
well-deserved break. Doctors say it might even improve her health.

For Pampering
EpsomSalt
can be used to create the ultimate at-home spa, and it’s something
several experts and celebrities recommend to help look and feel better. A
relaxing bath or exfoliating treatment will leave your skin radiant and
glowing.
Tips include:
Glowing skin exfoliating treatment: Mix 2 cups of EpsomSalt
with 1/4 cup of petroleum jelly and a few drops of lavender essential
oil. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
Microdermabrasion Facial: Mix 1/2 TSP of EpsomSalt into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin. Rinse with cool water. Pat dry.
Bathtime Bliss: Add two cups of EpsomSalt
to the water in a standard-sized bathtub; soak for at least 12 minutes,
three times weekly. For an extra treat, add a few drops of eucalyptus
oil for a refreshing
scent.
Pedicure Perfection: Dissolve a half cup of EpsomSalt
into two quarts of warm water. Pour the water into a container and soak
your bare feet for fifteen to twenty minutes. For an extra treat, add
a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent. Massage the
entire foot with EpsomSalt
concentrating on the heels and ankles to remove any dry, rough spots.
Then, rinse your feet off with clean tap water and dry them thoroughly.
Homemade bath crystals: Mix two cups of EpsomSalt
with a few drops of fragrance to create a custom bath crystal. Add a
few drops of food coloring or 1/2 TSP of glycerin if you like. Store in
an air-tight
container.
After Exercising/Boosting Magnesium Levels

One product in particular that I've been hearing about more and more is part of the Lotus line — the Youth Preserve Line and Texture Smoothing Cream.

About The Brand and Product
Fresh is not new on the skincare scene — they've been around for over three decades and have earned their reputation for luxury and quality. Packaging: The cream comes in a frosted glass jar with a screw-on lid. I love this because I can reuse the jar after I've finished the product, and it's a lot more environmentally friendly than plastic. Luxury is definitely the word here; all of the Fresh products are packaged in an understated and chic way, making me feel like I'm buying a sophisticated treat for my skin.
The product: This cream is for daytime use. I found the formula nice and lightweight rather than overly heavy.
It went on and sank into my skin quickly, so it's perfect for a morning skincare routine that happens before you apply your makeup. The texture is smooth and creamy, and I couldn't get enough of the scent.
The real test of a cream like this is whether it does what it says it will do — in this case, smooth the skin, hydrate it, and minimize the visible signs of aging. Here is what Fresh says the product will do:

Boost radiance for a youthful look
Deliver 24-hour hydration and preps for makeup
The antioxidant formula should smooth visible wrinkles and texture for supple, radiant skin, protect from daily stressors, reduce the looks of lines, and lock in moisture.

Vitamin E to soothe and soften.
Polyglutamic acid to retain water and plump skin.
Star fruit leaf extract to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
The formula also claims to minimize further premature signs of aging.
My Experience
With a high price tag, I had high expectations of buying this moisturizer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that every expectation I had was met — and, in some ways, even exceeded. So often, luxury products don't deliver results, but Fresh knows what they're doing.
I applied a thin layer to cleansed skin in the morning and patted it gently into my skin. The product sank into my skin in a few seconds, which is nice as I don't often have a lot of time in the mornings and like to get through my beauty routine quickly.
My skin looked dull and ashy from the winter weather, but my glow came back after the first use. I mean glow, not grease. My skin felt fresh and hydrated- no tightness at all after application.
It was nice to feel good immediately, but what really made me happy was that the long-term results were also easy to see. Within a few weeks, my roughness and uneven skin tone started fading away, and I could even go without foundation if I wanted to!
The fine lines under my eyes filled in thanks to those skin-plumping ingredients. My face looked a lot fresher, too! I also had fewer breakouts after a few weeks of using this cream. I've discovered that well-moisturized skin leads to overall better skin health, including less chance of pimples.
I would spend every dollar of my money again and will continue using this product daily. Fresh has convinced me that I'm worth the luxury of a product that works this well.
I'm so happy I gave this product a chance, and I think you should, too; you'll see the difference!

If you have been following my healthy skin journey, you may have seen that I had a major setback due to Musely's The Spot Cream causing irritation, enlarged, clogged pores, rashes, and white and blackheads.
Due to the skin inflammation, I developed dark spots and scars all over my face!
I am so devastated that my progress all went down the tubes!
I can't believe Musely's The Spot Cream would do this to my skin! It didn't at first, but I think one of the bottles I received from Musely was too potent, or my skin decided it didn't like The Spot Cream anymore and had an allergic reaction.
I gave myself a 3-month break before using Musely again, and I guess my skin reacted badly to it.
Don't get me wrong, Musely's The Spot Cream is a great product and works wonders, but I recommend using it on one spot to see if you're allergic to it before putting it all over your face.
I asked my esthetician about what treatments would help me with the scarring Musely left behind after I was off of the cream for over a month, and she suggested microneedling.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves using tiny needles to create small punctures on the skin. The purpose of this procedure is to stimulate the body's natural healing process, which can increase collagen production and improve skin texture.
This procedure can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation.
It is typically done in a dermatologist or esthetician's office and can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the treatment area.
When my esthetician told me this, I felt my skin crawl, knowing that needles would stab into my skin. Plus, I have a fear of needles.
But she told me that the needles are so thin that I wouldn't even feel them, mainly because she uses a numbing cream.
So, I put on my big girl panties and decided to face my fear; I'm going to try microneedling.
When it comes to microneedling service, there are before and after care you must follow.
Microneedling Before Care
No oral antibiotics at least ten days before service
No Retin-A products 24 hours before service
No auto-immune therapies or products within 24 hours before service
No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours before service.
No taking blood thinners, aspirin, or any other medication that can make you bleed easily. If you must take these medications, consult your doctor before microneedling.
Drink lots of water before treatment.
Microneedling Aftercare
Use a gentle cleanser with no actives to cleanse the face for 72 hours, and pat dry. Always make sure your hands are clean before touching the treated area.
Do not take any inflammatory medicines for at least two weeks.
No makeup or sunscreen for 24 hours. And once you do start using makeup again, ensure makeup products and brushes are clean.
After 24 hours, apply a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30. A chemical-free sunscreen is highly recommended.
What to Avoid after Microneedling?
For at least three days after microneedling, do not use any alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, retinal (vitamin A), vitamin C, or anything that is an active skincare ingredient.
Avoid using tanning beds, swimming, or exercising for 24 hours.
My First Experience with Microneedling and Review
It seems like a lot of rules to follow, huh?
But I didn't care; I wanted my face to be free from the dark marks, rashes, and scarring.
At my MedSpa, their microneedle is a SkinPen. SkinPen is one of the most popular and widely used microneedling devices on the market, and it is FDA-approved for safety and effectiveness.
Before my esthetician started, she used a numbing cream all over my face and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Here comes the scary SkinPen!
The SkinPen reminds me of a tattoo pen for some reason; it's loud like one, which makes me uneasy.
I was nervous when the SkinPen was used on my face because I thought it would hurt.
Yes, in some areas of my face, I did feel the needle, but not pain, just an uncomfortable feeling.
My esthetician told me if I do this service again, I'll need to use numbing cream for a much longer time before the service and also bring some headphones so I don't hear the pen.
Immediately after microneedling, my face was red and felt hot, similar to a sunburn. Also, my skin felt tighter.
After a couple of days, my skin lightly peeled around my chin area. And also, the redness faded away.
Within a few weeks, my skin was much softer and firmer. However, my dark marks and scars didn't fade much. Plus, my skin started to purge, causing more acne and blemishes.
Microneedling can be painless if a numbing cream is applied before the procedure.
Microneedling helps with fine lines and wrinkles; you will see results within a couple of days.
Facial procedures typically involve some downtime, but this one has less downtime compared to other facial procedures.
Cons
You will need several microneedling sessions to see improvement in dark marks and acne scars.
Microneedling can make your skin purge.
The SkinPen is loud, so you may need headphones to tune out the noise.
Your face will be very red right after treatment.
Microneedling is expensive! At my MedSpa, the cost is $350 per session, but since I'm a member there, I paid $175.
Is Microneedling Worth It?
I think microneedling is worth it if you're looking for smoother skin, but there are better options like prescription-grade Hydroquinone for fading dark marks and acne scars.
It's best to see a professional if you're having skincare concerns.

If you remember, I used
Musely's The Spot Cream
to help remove my acne scars and dark marks and how it works within a
week.
Well, the issue with using this product is that after three months, you
must stop usage and can go back to using The Spot Cream after another
three months.
I started using The Spot Cream again after a three-month break. However,
this caused my skin to break out with terrible rashes, resulting in
whiteheads and blackheads. The irritation was so bad that it caused dark
marks and scars all over my skin, making it the worst it has ever
been.
Not only was my face covered in dark marks, rashes, and scars, but I also
was dealing with dehydrated skin.
Don't get me wrong, Musely works great, but I recommend not using it
again after three months.
So now, I'm starting over with my face.
Since my skin is now filled with dark spots and uneven skin tone, I knew
I needed to start using an exfoliator to help remove the dead skin and
impurities.
This Peel is new to me because I never knew DERMA-E had this Peel, only
the
Overnight Peel.
While reading the packaging, it says it polishes and evens skin tone,
which is just what I needed.
I was sold immediately after reading that.
However, I still picked up a jar of the Microdermabrasion Scrub to have
on hand.
Once I got home, I quickly went to my bathroom and washed my face.
After cleansing, I applied a thin layer of the enzyme peel all over my face
and rubbed it in a circular motion.
I started noticing that the jelly-like peel begun to turn a light brownish
color and became a more clumpy texture.
What was happening was the peel was lifting up and dissolving the dead skin,
dirt, and impurities.
When I was done rubbing the enzyme peel all around my face after 5
minutes, I washed it off with warm water.
Looking at my skin, it was softer and brighter, with a much smoother
complexion.
I still have a long way to go to get my skin back to normal. However,
this peel helped polish it and soothe the irritation.
Pairing it with the Microdermabrasion Scrub works wonders! It helps heal
my skin barrier faster and lightens my dark marks.

The peel contains enzymes from exotic fruits such as papaya and
pineapple that help remove dead skin and even skin tone.
Licorice Root and Milk Thistle are also in the peel, which brightens

Works for the face and neck, but I have read about people using it on
other parts of their body, like the callus on their feet.
Results after just one use.
The Gentle Enzyme Peel is an excellent alternative if scrubs irritate
your skin.
The peel is non-sticky and easy to apply throughout your face and
neck.

I wish it came in a bigger tube. I can see myself going through this
1.7 oz quickly.
The packaging doesn't say if you can use it daily, so just to be safe,
I only use it twice a week.
This peel is pricey, and it costs over $20! But I think it is worth it
since you get instant results.
The peel smells like Elmer's glue, especially after rubbing it into
your skin.
DERMA-E Essentials Gentle Enzyme Peel is Great to Add to Your Skincare
Routine
Finding the proper skincare routine can be a journey; sometimes, we must
start over from scratch. However, we can achieve healthy and glowing skin
with patience and the right products.
DERMA-E Essentials Gentle Enzyme Peel
is an excellent addition to any skincare routine, providing instant
results that help polish and even out the skin tone. Although it may be a
bit pricey, the benefits outweigh the cons, and it's worth trying.
As for my dark spots, my esthetician suggested I try
microneedling.
Hopefully, it'll help fade my dark marks just as fast as Musely's The
Spot Cream did the first time I used it.

If you've been following me for a while now, you know that I have been on a health and wellness journey and a journey to regrow my hair for quite some time.
I didn't know that my health was why my hair fell out. Thank goodness I went to the doctor and got bloodwork done to see the cause of the over shedding.
I like to wear my hair in short, curly styles, but with so much hair loss, my scalp started showing, and my parts started widening.
I've done shampoos and conditioners that helped with the hair shedding, but I needed a more prescription-strength treatment that would not only stop my hair from shedding but also regrow my hair.
If you remember, I shared about Musely, an online telehealth company that offers effective prescription treatments straight to your doorstep.
I tried Musely's Spot Cream with great success, so I thought to try their hair loss treatments.
So, I went on Musely's website, filled out their medical form, and had to send pics of my hair for a doctor to take a look and prescribe me the correct medication to fit my needs.
You cannot use these hair prescriptions if you are on blood pressure medication.
Musely's The Hair Solution and The Hair Pill Treat the following concerns:

The Hair Topical Solution is formulated with minoxidil, dutasteride, and spironolactone to encourage hair growth while halting hair loss. The cost was $90.00.

The next day, after filling out the medical questionnaire, a doctor approved me for both treatments.
The Hair Topical Solution had these ingredients in it:

It took about a week to receive both treatments in the mail.
My Thoughts on The Hair Topical Solution and The Hair Pill
The doctor advised using The Hair Topical Solution and The Hair Pill together.
Here are my thoughts about Musely's The Hair Solution:
The Hair Solution is like a liquid serum that you apply 1-2 droppers full to the scalp once per night or as directed by the doctor.
The smell of the solution was that of a strong mint, like toothpaste. I was not too fond of that.
Also, when I applied the solution to my scalp, I felt tingling but not burning.
As suggested, I applied this solution before I went to bed. However, the following morning, I had a pounding headache. I assumed it was from the solution but wanted to try again the next evening.
Again, I applied the solution to the affected areas of my scalp, and this time, within an hour or two, my headache came back! Sure enough, The Hair Solution was causing headaches, so I had to stop using it.
So, unfortunately, I'm unsure if The Hair Solution works since I had to discontinue using it.

Here are my thoughts about Musely's Hair Sprout (Hair Pills):
The hair pills come in a 90-day supply bottle.
I had a better experience with these pills.
These little green pills also had a strong, pungent smell that stinks. But I didn't let that bother me because I needed my hair to start growing back.
Taking the pills with a full glass of water once daily is recommended.
I noticed new sprouting hair around my edges during the 30-day mark. Also, I started noticing growing hair in places I didn't want to grow hair, like my upper lip, chin, and arms. The hair on my lips grew so much that I had to pluck it!
However, once I hit the 90-day mark of using these pills, my hair grew back so much and then some!
My hair was no longer shedding and felt much stronger and thicker.
So, I didn't need to use both prescriptions; the pills worked fine on their own.

I'm happy my hair didn't start falling back out, and I had little to no shedding. Since I got my health back on track, my hair remained intact. Your hair may start shedding again if you have an underlying health issue, so I advise getting checked by a doctor.
