right? If you are looking for some outdoor fun, you should set aside a day
to have a great cookout and sundaes for dessert. Perfectly grilled steaks
and veggies, fresh salad, and roasted corn on the cob make for a great meal,
and you cannot go wrong following up a meal like that with tasty sundaes. Of
course, you’ll need a really great

toppings, and some
fun sprinkles
to do it right, but it’s definitely worth it to make this staycation idea a
reality.
Entertainment in the Park
Many cities have free concerts in major parks during the more temperate
seasons, whether you know it or not. In addition, many cities offer free
open-air movie screenings, plays, and many other forms of entertainment, all free and
family-friendly. Check into what is shown in your hometown and make a day of

it.

Make a point to spend the whole day (and maybe all night) in your PJs,
watching your favorite family films. Introduce your kids to the classics

of popcorn and some beanbag chairs, and you have a staycation idea that
everyone will love.

Dollywood never fails to amaze with its latest attractions every season!
Dollywood Parks & Resorts plans another large year following a massive 2023 season. Last year, the park added Big Bear Mountain—subsequently named the Best New Family Coaster in the world—and expanded the company's lodging properties with the October opening of Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort, now named one of National Geographic's "Hotels We Love in 2024."
Not resting on its laurels, The Dollywood Company debuts the multi-faceted Dolly Parton Experience in May alongside several new guest-friendly amenities and an operating calendar that includes another 23 operational days—or 357 operating hours—for the 2024 season!
With the addition, the Dollywood theme park's calendar grows to 281 operational days for 2024, after an additional 21 operating days were added to the 2023 calendar compared to the 2022 season.
The park opens a week earlier than 2023, with Season Passholder Day on Friday, March 8, and the first day of operation for the general public on Saturday, March 9. All the projects and calendar changes have been undertaken with one thing in mind—Dollywood guests.
Dollywood's 2024 season begins with the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, which features three new shows celebrating Dolly's iconic career. Her remarkable story is told in "From the Heart—The Life and Music of Dolly Parton." The new show takes place in Celebrity Theater.

For those who cannot contain their love of Dolly, "Sing-a-long with Dolly" invites guests to belt out the lyrics to some of her most-loved songs. This fun and interactive new show takes place at the Back Porch Theater. Finally, "Trio, Again featuring Three Times A Lady" honors the iconic "Trio" album released by Dolly, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt in 1987.

Dollywood's Flower & Food Festival, presented by Covenant Health (April 19-June 9), blooms bright with vivid larger-than-life flower sculptures. Park guests enjoy this immersive atmosphere as they go through over half a million blooms during this stunning festival. In addition, Dollywood's culinary team showcases its world-class abilities with a menu full of delicacies that highlight the tastes of spring in the Smokies.
Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, presented by Food City (June 15-Sept. 1), is everyone's favorite summer tradition and once again includes Dollywood's Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks show every night. Another favorite, the "Gazillion Bubble Show," returns to mesmerize guests in Celebrity Theater.
A family tradition for many, Dollywood's Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept. 9-Oct. 28) opens two weeks earlier this season, providing guests more time to celebrate the beauty of fall with thousands of carved pumpkins, spirited performances from talented singers including Suzy Bogguss and Rhonda Vincent, and the fun of Great Pumpkin LumiNights presented by Covenant Health. Great Pumpkin LumiNights, previously named the best theme park harvest event in the world, features elaborate displays that are fun for every family member. Creative culinary items, accomplished artisans, and fall fun in the Smokies make this a picture-perfect time to enjoy Dollywood.
The industry's Best Theme Park Christmas event—Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (November 1- January 5)— also opens earlier this year and concludes the park's 2024 season with six million lights, festive holiday shows, and the warm Christmas atmosphere guests have come to expect during this joyous time of year.

It's time to start thinking and planning what you and your family is going to do for spring break. With my family, we usually go all out for spring break taking a much-needed trip to escape our busy realities.
Spring break for a lot of families usually is traveling to Florida because it is known for being one of the biggest family destinations with so many things to do and see for everyone.
I love Florida, but don't get me wrong, always going there gets me a bit burned out from it, plus I hate dealing with all the crowds. Florida is the perfect place to escape during the non-peak season when the weather is much milder and comfortable.
Today, I wanted to share with you spring break destinations I have been to with my family that I feel is worth the trip that everyone will enjoy that isn't in Florida, take a look...
1. Pigeon Forge, Tennessee- Pigeon Forge is by far the best place my family and I love to visit; we go several times a year! When you visit Pigeon Forge, it's like a big playground of family activities on every corner. Trust me; there is never a dull moment in Pigeon Forge.
First of all, you got Dollywood, a family amusement park with more than 40 world class rides, high-energy entertainment, award-winning dining! The staff at Dollywood are friendly making sure their guest have the time of their life! And unlike Disney World in Florida, Dollywood is not all congested, so you spend more of your time enjoying all the things Dollywood have to offer instead of wasting your time in long lines.
And guess what! Dollywood opened a new land called Dolly Parton Experience that you don't want to miss!
Right next door to Dollywood is Dollywood's Splash Country Waterpark. Cool down from the heat in their variety of water attractions for both the thrill-seekers and pool-loungers in your family. There are delicious places to dine inside of Splash Country Waterpark as well.
Pigeon Forge, like Las Vegas, have a long strip of attractions, shops, and dining for the whole family. Watch your eyes lit up with excitement seeing all the fun things happening around you while your coasting along the strip finding your next activity. Search through all of my Pigeon Forge posts, and you'll see all the things my family and I got to do while there.
2. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina- When you think of Myrtle Beach you think it's just a beach town right? Well, you're wrong, it's much more than that! Yes, it has a 60-mile string of beaches but offers beachfront boardwalk of arcades, souvenir shops, and dining. Also, Myrtle Beach has the SkyWheel, one of the country’s tallest Ferris wheels.
Near the boardwalk is an old-fashioned Family Kingdom amusement park that the kids will love!
If you're looking for more things to do with your family, nearby is Broadway at the Beach, an outdoor shopping center and entertainment complex. And my favorite, Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach that you can check out and be up and close to many different sea creatures. Also the electrifying Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show is quite the experience!
Not too far from Myrtle Beach, if you're not too scared I recommend going to Alligator Adventure. This large facility is filled with different species of reptiles, not just alligators. And yes, you may even get a chance to touch an alligator during one of Alligator Adventure's live shows.
3. Houston, Texas- Houston, there is no problem finding things to do for the whole family there! When we were last in Houston, we enjoyed our time there so much that we almost packed up our stuff to move there! As they say, everything is bigger and better in Texas, and that's no lie!
Houston was more of an educational trip for our family, so we went to Space Center Houston so the girls could learn about space travel. There are a lot of history, artifacts, and memorabilia to dive into, also tours, so getting to the Space Center first thing in the morning is a must.
Houston has so many museums to choose from that you'll walk away with a wealth of knowledge.
Another thing is Houston has a great foodie scene that you can't wait to sink your teeth into tasty food dishes! Huge portions, and an array of different cuisines, you'll be rolling out of Houston for sure!
If you're looking to soak up the sun and lay on the beach, just an hour away from Houston is family-friendly Galveston Beach. Galveston Beach is more than just a quiet beach vacation; they offer a boardwalk with carnival rides, snack bars, and shops.
4. Carmel-by-the-Sea, California- Are you looking for a peaceful trip for your family? Carmel, California is the place to unwind and escape from all the noise of everyday life.
Carmel is a quaint little fairytale cottage town that is walkable but make sure to wear a good pair of walking shoes because the streets there are a bit inclined, but you still won't need a car to get around the small town. There are galleries, shops, and museums to seek your fancy while enjoying a nice glass of wine.
Check out the breathtaking views at Carmel Beach while enjoying a picnic lunch with your family. And don't leave your fur baby at home! Carmel is a dog-friendly town, so your furry friend can enjoy vacationing with you as well!
Another thing that is a must is visiting Point Lobos State Natural Reserve Park where you can go whale watching, check out other sea creatures, and see all the different kinds of birds. Nothing beats seeing wildlife up close in their natural habitat! Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is outstanding for sightseeing, photography, painting, nature study, picnicking, SCUBA diving, and jogging.
5. Staycation- Nothing beats a staycation! While everyone is leaving town that will give you and your family a chance to explore your own city without the crowd. Book a hotel room downtown near where all the activities and dining are, and check out places you have not visited yet.
If your city has a resort, that's even better since resorts have more to offer like a waterpark, more dining options, spa, and recreational activities all in one place.

Have you considered exploring nearby cities to see if fall festivals are happening this year? It could be an excellent opportunity to enjoy fun family time without breaking the bank on a fall vacation. These festivals offer a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions, with plenty of food, music, arts, and crafts to enjoy. Oktoberfest is a popular festival many cities celebrate, so I suggest checking that out first.
Mountain Resort
One of the upsides of the fall weather is mountain resort season. My family likes to spend Spring Break and summer at mountain resorts, and I would love to experience a mountain resort during the Fall. Going to a resort is something the entire family will love, and there are so many amazing things to do during your vacation there.

Alongside these reviews, I've been contemplating my next car purchase, as my
daughters are now driving and require a vehicle for school
transportation. So, I will be passing down my old car to them.
I've wanted a
Lexus
for years, so I went to my local Lexus dealer for a quick test drive to decide
if it would be the right car for me.
I expressed interest in purchasing the 2023 Lexus RX Luxury during my visit to
Hennessey Lexus Duluth. I asked the salesperson if Greater Atlanta Automotive Association
members like myself receive discounts on new vehicle purchases. The
salesperson was unsure and asked their manager for clarification. The
manager promised to look into it and get back to me, but unfortunately,
neither the salesperson nor the manager followed up with me.
My inquiry about the media discount was being ignored, and they knowingly
wouldn't give me the money off the price anyway, which they should have told
me they couldn't from the beginning. All they had to do was be honest
with me.
However, my decision to no longer purchase the Lexus RX was also influenced by
the fact that the SUV had gotten smaller and no longer provided enough space
to comfortably accommodate my family of four. As a result, I decided not
to proceed with the purchase.
I prayed for guidance and gave myself a day to decide on going with my second
choice, the Toyota Highlander.
I headed to
AutoNation Toyota Mall of Georgia
the next day to buy the Toyota Highlander. I had already reviewed this
mid-size SUV and was convinced it was the best option for my family.
Everything about the car impressed me, and I was eager to make it mine.
The buying process was a breeze! There was no hassle or hidden fees;
what you see is what you get! At the dealership, I filled out the
application on a tablet with Toyota's SmartPath program, which instantly gave
me all the details about the car I wanted.
And no, I didn't ask about media discounts because I contacted Toyota's
Corporate Communications the night before, who said they do not offer them.
However, Toyota already had a big sales event with over a $ 3,000 price
reduction on Highlanders.
When you buy cars at the end of the year, you can get the best deals because
dealers are looking to push out the current models to make room for new car
models.
But do know due to the chip shortage and the recent pandemic, there are few
cars on the lots, so you have to order some new vehicles.
Buying a car is now easier than ever as you can purchase it online and have it
shipped to your house or local dealership.
I made my purchase the traditional way by going to the dealership.
My car was unavailable at the dealership and had an almost 2-month wait time
for delivery.
When it was time to seek financing, I noticed high-interest rates for people
with low credit scores. It's crucial to avoid getting into
deep debt and pay your bills
on time to get the best deals if you're in the market to buy a car.
My credit score is in the 800s, and my only debt is my mortgage. As a
result, I was considered a well-qualified buyer and received the lowest
interest rate. I didn't have to put any money down, but I decided to do
it anyway to keep my monthly payments down.
As a long-time AutoNation Toyota Mall of Georgia customer, I received a
150,000-mile warranty (usually 50,000) and free accessories, including roof
racks and rubber mats.
The car was delivered to the dealership within the promised timeframe.
Now, I am a proud owner of a 2023 Toyota Highlander Platinum!
I want to thank AutoNation Toyota Mall of Georgia for their outstanding
service throughout the years and for quickly jumping into action with my other
car; that transmission went out the day before my new car arrived. They
gave me a free car rental, plus a great price on a new transmission. So,
I'll be at ease when my daughters start driving it.

One particular brand that caught my eye was

Hey Yall! I wanted to share my favorite clothing stores I like to shop for my teen girls.
I have parents all the time ask me where I shop for my girls' clothes, and even my daughters' friends ask them as well because they're always so stylish with their outfits.
I like to shop at my local mall for my daughters' wardrobe because I'm the type of person who likes to touch and see in-person clothes I buy for them, including for myself. Plus, malls provide a variety of different stores to choose from all in one place. I barely purchase their clothes online; I'm all about the buying experience, going outdoors being around other people. I'm a very social person, not an introvert; already I spend so much time in the house since I
work for myself, I want to be out and about spending quality time with my daughters during our shopping outings.
Shopping for teens can be quite hard due to their style changing out of all the young kid's apparel, going into more of a grown-up look, but still youthful. However, again I make sure my girls' choose outfits that are modest and age appropriate.
