Ed “Big Ed” Brown revealed the breaking point in his engagement with ex-fiancée Liz Woods.

“I’ve known for a few months that it really wasn’t going to work and I wasn’t really happy,” Ed, 59, exclusively told Us Weekly while talking about 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. “The taco pasta night where Liz kind of lost it like she’s done before, my sister had never seen that. [My sister] just gave me that look like, ‘Don’t do it.’”

He continued, “And what kept reiterating in my head was something my mom had said to me, ‘Go ahead and marry her, but you’ll be miserable for the rest of your life.’”

During the April 21 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Liz recalled the on-again, off-again couple getting into an argument after Ed made taco pasta.

“Ed made dinner — taco pasta — but then Ryleigh’s dish was just way too spicy for her, and Ed pretty much told her to stop being a baby. I don’t appreciate that, and I called him out on it,” Liz said during a confessional, adding that Ed “attacked me back” and they began “arguing in front of his family.”

Ed told Us that the morning after their fight — which he dubbed “Pasta Gate” — he had a conversation with his sister and decided he wasn’t going to go through with the wedding.

“So I began texting the venue, telling them I need a refund. And at that same time, Liz was calling and I thought she was calling to apologize and she didn’t. And that’s when I knew. She’s like, ‘Oh, we have date night tonight.’ I’m like, ‘Well, don’t you want to talk about last night?’” he recalled. “And that’s kind of what we did. Both of us together, we never dealt with our problems.”

Ed noted that the twosome would “sweep [their problems] under the rug” and continue on with their life. He added, “We never learned how to deal with those issues. And that eventually led to me deciding that I didn’t want to go through with it.”

Ed, who got engaged to Liz in November 2021, admitted that he “definitely” has “regrets” in how he handled calling off the wedding.

“I didn’t realize, I thought I had told Liz, but I think I did, but she didn’t really hear me or she didn’t believe me. And it wasn’t until our officiant reached out to her and said, ‘Look, I’m really sorry.’ And that’s when it hit her a ton of bricks that it was over,” he said. “And I’d spoken to him a couple weeks later when I was in San Diego and he’s like, ‘Yeah, when she got the message she was uncontrollable.’ So that part really hurt.”

Ed said that he “wasn’t happy” with how Liz found out his decision to call off the nuptials, but he noted there’s “no good way” to tell her. Ed added, “So I just had to cut it off.”

Ariana Madix is firing back at a Love Island fan who had some words to say about her new hosting gig.

“You are no Maya [Jama],” one user wrote on Madix and Peacock’s joint Instagram post teasing the new season of Love Island USA, referring to the host of the U.K.’s Love Island.

“That’s obvious, dear,” Madix, 38, replied. “I could never be nor am i trying to be the queen that is maya jama. and guess what? it would be weird if i did. i am me and i am going to bring my best self to my dream hosting job doing what i do best: BE MYSELF. have a good day.”

In the teaser for Love Island USA, uploaded via social media, Madix reads a text that said, “Ariana Madix, will you host Peacock’s new Love Island USA?” to which she enthusiastically replied, “Yes!”

Madix proceeded to pack her bags and head off on a day full of travels — including riding a Vespa, on top of an airplane and on a surfboard. “Who’s ready to couple up?” Madix asked as she hit the sand, with a wink.

The Vanderpump Rules star confirmed in March that she was tapped as the new host of Love Island USA. “Talk about a bombshell. This summer, I’m trading rhinestone buckles for bikinis,” Madix shared in an Instagram video. “I’m hosting the next season of Love Island USA, streaming this summer on Peacock. I can’t wait to stir up some trouble in paradise.”

“I also heard from some friends of ours who are close to the source that filming with her was close to filming with Clare Crawley,” Natalie, 25, alleged on the Tuesday, May 7, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast.

After Nick, 43, confirmed he had also heard that rumor, guest Josh Peck replied, “Guessing it was a little tough with Clare.”

While noting that it’s “entirely believable” that Maria turned down the role of The Bachelorette, Nick said he hadn’t “heard of that version” before.

“Imagine how difficult it might be to work with someone who — instead of thinking it was possible that they could rub anyone the wrong way — that it was more believable to this person that their own friend, who they hadn’t spoken with in several years, for no other reason than to prove himself right, decided to come up with this elaborate conspiracy theory as to why she might have rubbed some women in the house the wrong way,” he noted. “That person might, you know, be challenging.”

Kelly Clarkson just can’t seem to catch her breath when it comes to battling her musical match, Anne Hathaway.

Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz still can’t get over the iconic One Tree Hill heart-eating dog scene, just like Us.

“This is the episode we get talked about … Well, I don’t wanna say, ‘Talked about the most for,’ but I’ll say, ‘made fun of the most for,’” Bush, 41, recalled on the Monday, April 29, episode of the “Drama Queens” podcast. “Yeah, a dog eats a heart and everything is insane.”

“It took a while for me to make this decision because I was very fearful of leaving Food Network,” De Laurentiis, 53, said on the Tuesday, April 23, episode of Rebecca Minkoff’s “Superwomen” podcast. “Because when you’re a big fish in that pond and then you get out, who knows what’s gonna happen next? But I really started to become interested in the entrepreneurial sort of journey. And I realized I couldn’t do both.”

De Laurentiis noted that it “felt like the world was crumbling” around her while she balanced her career, motherhood and her divorce from Todd Thompson, which she announced in December 2020.

“So about two and a half years ago, I finally was like, ‘OK, I’m gonna make the jump, and I’m gonna put my energy in Giadzy,” she said, referring to her lifestyle brand. “I’ll still do TV. I have a deal with Amazon, so I still do a little bit of that, but it’s definitely not the schedule I used to keep. Definitely not.”

After De Laurentiis announced her exit from the Food Network in 2023, a spokesperson for the network addressed her departure in a statement to Us Weekly.

Camilla’s solo appearance on Monday comes amid Charles’ health woes. Charles, who revealed his cancer diagnosis in February, is set to make his official return to public duties on Tuesday, April 30.

Sonja Christopher, the first-ever Survivor castoff, died at age 87 on Friday, April 26.

“Sonya [sic] was one of the kindest people to ever play Survivor. Every interaction I had with her over the years was lovely,” host Jeff Probst said in a statement posted via the show’s official Instagram account on Saturday, April 27. “She would always greet you with a smile on her face and joy in her heart. I’m honored that our paths got to cross.”

The account also shared a photo of Christopher, who smiled as she adjusted her hat. No cause of death has been revealed.

News of her death broke when Liz Wilcox, who is competing on season 46 of the reality series, shared a heartfelt message alongside a photo of Christopher, who competed on the inaugural season in 2000, holding up her signed ukulele via FaceTime. (Christopher was known for playing the ukulele.)

And I said, ‘Oh, no.’ And you know why is because I had no concept of ageism. I was always good at sports and very active physically. I just didn’t realize I was, to some of these people, an old lady.”

Christopher’s Survivor appearance came three years after she battled breast cancer. “I was newly recovering from breast cancer treatment. And I had been in a 11-year relationship and my partner got consolation elsewhere during that time of the cancer,” she told the outlet. “So I had moved to a senior retirement community, and I was by myself, no ties, my son was grown and taking care of himself. I was reading the morning paper, and it said something in an article about CBS looking for 16 Americans to cast away on a deserted island and see who could survive for 39 days.”

Kanye West has faced multiple lawsuits for his school, Donda Academy.

News broke in April 2023 that plaintiffs Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. Per the legal docs obtained by Us Weekly, the pair alleged that the school failed to acknowledge their complaints after “multiple health and safety violations, as well as unlawful educational practices.”

The court docs alleged that Principal Moira Love called them “aggressive” after expressing their concerns. Hailey claimed that she intended on addressing her complaints with West directly, but was “threatened not to reach out to him.” Both teachers were fired in March 2023, which they believed was “in retaliation for their complaints about Defendants’ unlawful and unsafe educational practices.”

A third former teacher named Timanii Meeks joined the lawsuit against Donda Academy in June 2023, per NBC News. Meeks alleged that she alerted administrators to exposed electrical wiring, loose baseboards and other safety concerns and was told that the school was “working on the kinks.” The trial is set to begin in April 2025.

An attorney for West denied the claims and asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit. “None of it is true and the allegations do a disservice to the Donda Academy’s current staff and students and their parents who will attest to their positive experience,” attorney Gregory Suhr said in court docs obtained by NBC News.

The next month, Isaiah Meadows filed a separate lawsuit against Donda Academy, claiming he was fired in retaliation for voicing his concerns about safety issues.

Former Yeezy and Donda Academy employee Trevor Phillips filed his own lawsuit against West the following year, alleging a hostile workplace and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Per the court docs obtained by Us, Phillips sought $35,000 for what he considered to be whistleblower retaliation, discrimination based on race, a hostile workplace and other causes of action.

Another lawsuit was filed in April 2024 by former Yeezy and Donda Academy employee Benjamin Provo. In court documents obtained by Us, Provo claimed he “suffered severe discrimination, harassment, and retaliation” from West. He further alleged that West required security personnel to prevent paparazzi from gaining access to him “by any means necessary, including acts of violence.”

The rapper launched Donda Academy in 2022. West and ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, did not attend Donda Academy. Us has reached out for comment to West’s rep about the various lawsuits.

Nutrition Guidelines

Hailey and Byers alleged in the April 2023 lawsuit that the school didn’t follow “nutrition guidelines.”

“Throughout the entirety of Plaintiffs’ employment, the only lunch available for students was sushi, every single day,” the lawsuit claimed. “Students were not allowed to bring any outside food or anything other than water. It was widely known that Defendant West spends $10,000 a week on sushi.”

Multiple Health Violations

In the April 2023 lawsuit, the plaintiffs cited multiple health violations, claiming that Donda Academy didn’t have proper janitorial or cleaning staff.

Noting that West “did not believe in cleaning products containing chemicals,” the docs state, “Teachers were only allowed to clean with acid water and microfiber cloths. There were no trash cans outside of the classrooms or the kitchen.”

Hailey and Byers also alleged there were no school nurses on staff. Instead, student medications were left unsupervised and kept in a janitorial closet. “Plaintiff Byers’ student’s EpiPen was stored on top of the microwave,” the documents state. “It was never communicated to Plaintiff Byers that the student had an allergy or needed any medications, and never received any medical documentation.”

Bullying Accusations

Hailey and Byers pointed to several incidents of alleged bullying in the April 2023 lawsuit. “In one incident, a student assaulted an eighth grade student by slapping her, then attempted to assault another teacher. The student had multiple accounts of bullying, both physically and verbally, that had gone without discipline,” the documents claim. “However, there are several students with bullying issues that remain unaddressed. Plaintiff Byers complained that the student who became violent should be expelled from Donda Academy.”

Lack of ‘Security Precautions’

The April 2023 lawsuit claimed that Donda Academy didn’t have “any security precautions.” Instead, “students were allowed to be picked up from the school campus by strangers, as there were no policies in place otherwise.”

The docs claimed that “parents, children from other schools, and even random strangers could come and go at will without ever having to sign-in or sign-out or notify anyone.”

“Moreover, parents would bring their newborns to the school, and breastfeed and pass around the infant to others, including teachers, all during school hours with no regards to student rights or safety,” the lawsuit stated.

Lack of Educational Guidelines

Hailey and Byers claimed in the April 2023 lawsuit that Donda Academy was “not following state regulations for students in need of educational services, additional testing, or individualized learning plans.”

West’s Unusual Requests

In the April 2023 lawsuit, the plaintiffs claimed that West had unusual guidelines for Donda Academy, including banning crossword puzzles and coloring sheets. Students were also allegedly not allowed to use a fork or utensils, any dishware had to be gray, no colors or artwork could be visible in classrooms and the building was locked from the outside during the school day.

Hailey and Byers claimed that the classes weren’t allowed to take place on the second floor as West was “reportedly afraid of stairs.” He also allegedly required all students and staff to wear all-black clothing that he had issued or designed, and banned all jewelry. Classroom chairs were also allegedly replaced with foam cushions and stools, leaving teachers and students to stand.

Meeks alleged that a few parents complained that there were no books, textbooks “or any sort of educational items that would typically be found in a classroom,” the lawsuit says.

Payment Issues

Hailey and Byers claimed in the April 2023 lawsuit that “throughout the entirety of their employment,” their paychecks were either “untimely or inaccurate.”

Per the lawsuit, “Plaintiff Byers never received her first paycheck. Moreover, Plaintiffs’ paychecks would often be short approximately $1,800.00 to $2.700.00 per pay period. Plaintiffs complaint to Donda Academy about the failure to pay them all wages due during the applicable pay periods.”

Racial Discrimination

In the April 2023 lawsuit, Hailey and Byers alleged they were labeled “aggressive” after expressing their concerns to Love. “Plaintiffs believe this type of comment facilitates stereotypes about African-American women as being confrontational simply for doing their job and voicing their legitimate concerns in order to provide a safe environment and proper education for their students,” the legal documents stated.

Phillips’ attorneys alleged similar claims in the 2024 lawsuit, saying, “It was immediately apparent to him, and others, that Kanye treated the Black staff considerably worse than white employees. Even when class was in session, Kanye would scream and berate Black employees, while never even as much raising his tone at the white staff. Often, Kanye targeted Phillips — a Black man — not just with this disparate and harassing behavior, but complete and utter disdain.”

The court docs also alleged that West discussed in front of two children how he only likes to date white women.

Provo echoed Phillips’ claim that West “frequently screamed at and berated Black employees” in his 2024 lawsuit. He also alleged that in April 2023, West began “unjustifiably and unreasonably” demanding that employees shave their heads, including Provo, who wore dreadlocks. Provo claimed that he was fired after he refused to shave his head.

Exposed Electrical Wiring

In Meeks’ June 2023 lawsuit, she claimed that she alerted administrators to exposed electrical writing, loose baseboards and other safety concerns. She was told they were “working on the kinks,” describing the school as a “work in progress,” per NBC News.

Lack of Electricity

Meadows alleged in the July 2023 lawsuit that there was no electricity, leading classroom lessons to be taught using commercial flood lamps, per NBC News. There was also allegedly no glass in the windows, but mesh curtains were eventually added. The school’s septic tank also often overflowed, per the suit.

Putting in a Jail

Per the 2024 docs, West allegedly told students “he wanted them to shave their heads and that he intended to put a jail at the school — and that they could be locked in cages.” After the comment, Phillips claimed that the staff distracted the students and escorted them from the room.

Antisemitic Comments

In the 2024 lawsuit, Phillips alleged that he witnessed several incidents where West would tout his “discriminatory conspiracy of Jews” during meetings at Donda Academy. Phillips claimed that he felt uncomfortable during a separate December 2022 meeting off of school grounds when West allegedly ranted about Hitler’s greatness.

West’s ‘Temper Tantrum’

In the 2024 lawsuit, Phillips alleged that West threw a “temper tantrum” and threatened to punch him. Phillips claimed that West wasn’t pleased with a garden that Phillips was tending to, and the rapper began screaming in front of his employees to “get the f–k” out of here” and that he was “f–king fired.”

Alleged Violent Security Tactics

Provo claimed in his lawsuit that in or around 2023, security “were required to prevent paparazzi from interacting with Kanye by any means necessary, including acts of violence.” He alleged that security personnel including himself were required to “use physical force to remove paparazzi from the direct vicinity of Kanye,” “snatch cameras from the paparazzi” and “take their sim cards and provide them to Kanye.”

Provo alleged that when he said he didn’t want to comply with the instructions as he could face legal consequences, his manager, John Hicks, “dismissively stated” that they would bail him out of jail. Provo further claimed that the required security tactics put both himself and paparazzi “in harm’s way” at times. Us reached out to West when news of the lawsuit broke.

The series premiered on Bravo in 2012 and followed a group of Persian-Americans living in Beverly Hills, balancing their careers and social lives with their families and cultural traditions.

Shahs of Sunset featured Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Sammy Younai, Asa Soltan Rahmati, Mike Shouhed, Mercedes Javid and Lilly Ghalichi.

Sammy parted ways with the show after one season but continued to make appearances, while Asa left after the sixth season. Destiney Rose, Nema Vand, Asifa Mirza and Shervin Roohparvar later joined the crew, with pal Leila Gharache making appearances.

Us Weekly confirmed that the series was canceled in April 2022 after nine seasons.
