The English actress disclosed that she sensed the public's gaze as she stepped into the role and opted to draw inspiration from Winehouse's devoted fan base, including herself, to portray the iconic singer-songwriter.

Just as she predicted, Abela has faced criticism, with the most prominent happening after the first look at pictures of her in Winehouse-related outfits surfaced online.

Even when the public argued that Abela and Winehouse shared zero physical resemblance, Winehouse's father, Mitch, quickly spoke up.

The Blast reported that the 73-year-old believes in separating the actress from his daughter — notably,  Amy was Amy and Abela is Abela. 

As far as he is concerned, as long as Abela effectively portrays the character of his late daughter, resemblance between them should be a non-issue.

Mitch then doubled down on his stance by pointing out that he and Eddie Marsan, who portrays him in "Back to Black" do not look like each other. 

The singer further expressed his belief that Hollywood often placed too much emphasis on looks, citing instances where actors portrayed real-life figures without physical resemblance.

Born to actress Caroline Gruber and director Angelo Abela, Abela comes from a diverse background, with Russian-Jewish, Polish-Jewish, Maltese-Libyan, and English ancestry.

A spokesperson for Bravo recently broke the news about the network's continued partnership with Cohen amid his ongoing lawsuits. They claimed the executive producer had been cleared of all suspicions following investigations from a third party.

"An outside investigation into the recent allegations made by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney against Andy Cohen has now been completed, and the claims were found to be unsubstantiated," the Bravo rep revealed.

The source also told ET that Cohen's popular talk show, "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen," won't be affected by the scandal. The program, currently in its 21st season, has been renewed, proving that Bravo will continue to stand in the host's corner.

The result of Bravo's investigation into Cohen comes three months after Glanville accused him of inappropriate work behavior. She claimed the media personality sent her a video in which he made sexually suggestive comments.

The former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star slammed him in a letter addressed to the show's production houses — NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. and Shed Media. In the note, Glanville described Cohen's actions as "an extraordinary abuse of power."

McSweeney claimed Cohen was known for giving "the Housewives with whom he uses cocaine more favorable treatment" and "[makes them appear more agreeably [in] edits [of their shows]."

She also bashed Bravo for creating a toxic workplace fuelled by substance use and disregarding sexually inappropriate conduct. However, Cohen refuted these allegations through a letter written by his lawyers.

Cohen's lawyers argued that McSweeney's allegations were false and demanded that she retract her claims of their client's "purported 'cocaine use." In their letter, the TV producer's reps wrote:

"To be clear: these allegations are categorically false. Mr. Cohen never used cocaine with any cast member on any Real Housewives show or with any other Bravo employee."

"The absence of any reasonable basis to make such allegations is confirmed by your pleading itself," they continued, noting that McSweeney's made baseless remarks to garner media attention.

The lawyers stressed that the former Housewife was spreading "false and malicious lies" and demanded she see the error of her ways. In their words:

"We demand that you issue an immediate public retraction and apologize to Mr. Cohen. Every day you fail to do so only increases the damages suffered by Mr. Cohen."

McSweeney Claims Her Intentions Are Pure

During a March appearance on American Addiction Centers' "Addiction Talk," McSweeney addressed her lawsuit against Cohen and Bravo. As shared by The Blast, she stressed that this legal battle wasn't an evil agenda, saying:

"As hard as it is to be going up against a very powerful entity, and for people to maybe also just not agree with me or, you know, come at me and get blowback and all the things, I don't care because this is the truth. I have it on my side, and my intentions are really good."

In court documents obtained by The Blast, three of her ex-employees claim the Oppenheim Group’s newest agent is as problematic off-camera as she is on the show’s set.

The lawsuit was filed by Lucy Poole, Amanda Bustard, and Kenneth Gomez, whom the document referred to collectively as the plaintiffs. Ms. Poole primarily served as Tiesi’s nanny while sometimes acting as a personal assistant and house cleaner.

Meanwhile, Ms. Bustard was the entertainer’s social media manager, and Mr. Gomez acted as her personal assistant and stylist.

During their time with Tiesi, the trio claimed they were not only verbally abused but also suffered numerous acts of violence that violated the California Labor Code and the California Fair Employment.

“Plaintiffs bring this action against Defendants for the continuous, pervasive, objectively, and subjectively offensive harassment they were forced to endure during the time of their employment,“ the document alleged, adding:

“Among other things, Plaintiffs were harassed, discriminated against, and/or retaliated against on the basis of their sex, gender, and/or sexual orientation, and for having repeatedly reported and demanded cessation of the harassing, discriminatory, and retaliatory conduct.”

The Plaintiffs Claim They Were Unfairly Fired After Enduring The Alleged Abuse

According to the documents, Tiesi’s former employees claim they were unjustly fired after months of enduring harassment, discrimination, and threats of physical violence. The sudden termination of their employment, coupled with the alleged abuse, pushed them to file the lawsuit.

“Plaintiffs suffered severe emotional distress, loss of earnings, and loss of employment benefits, among other things,“ the documents stressed, noting they “are entitled to general and special damages, statutory damages and penalties.“

Additionally, the filing claimed that Tiesi’s ex-employees deserved compensation for “punitive damages, prejudgment interest, costs, attorneys’ fees, and other appropriate relief for Defendants’ unlawful conduct.”

That wasn’t all; the plaintiffs supported their case with allegations about Tiesi’s behavior while on Netflix’s hit series “Selling Sunset.“ They alleged that her fame on the show, coupled with her growing media influence, had negatively influenced her personality.

The Realtor Allegedly Has A Reputation For Trouble

Tiesi, per the documents, had developed a reputation for trouble thanks to her fame. She was accused of “instigating dramatic and explosive confrontations with colleagues” — a claim that seemingly referred to her outspoken nature on the Netflix show.

Fans of the show may recall that Tiesi has been a force to be reckoned with, as she is never afraid to speak her mind. This strong personality led to what happened to be a heated blowout in the season’s finale, but that isn’t what the lawsuit is focused on.

Instead, the media personality’s former employees highlighted her alleged hate for the LGBT community and tendency for verbal abuse. Ms. Poole claimed she frequently referred to other employees, people, and coworkers as “f-ggots, c-nts, and r-tards.”

The woman alleged that due to her mental disability and affiliation with the LGBT community, Tiesi berated her with cruel words like “short bus riding b-tch, ADHD id-ot, and dodo head.” She would also say that her child was not going to grow up to be a “f-ggot.”

The Former Employees Are Suing For Millions

The plaintiffs wish to have their legal showdown with Tiesi before a jury and are asking for millions in compensation. The trio demanded that each of them be awarded at least $1,000,000 for their financial losses.

They also want $2,000,000 each to cover “compensatory and general damages, including, but not limited to, pain, suffering, and emotional distress.” Their demands continued with $250,000 each for statutory damages and another $250,000 for restitutionary damages.

The plaintiffs asked Tiesi to cough up $250,000 for civil penalties, liquidated damages, and relief allowed under the Labor Code. They also requested that she cover their attorney fees, which may amount to $500,000.

Bre Tiesi Was Previously Involved In A Lawsuit Over Her Miscarriage

The violation of labor code allegations comes four months after Tiesi settled a lawsuit over the car accident that caused her miscarriage. The Blast reported that she had reached an agreement with Keshunna Latrice Parker, the culprit behind the tragic incident.

Tiesi sued the woman for negligence, claiming she failed to operate her vehicle in a “safe and reasonable manner.” Parker allegedly rear-ended her car on Burbank Boulevard, near the Warner Bros. Studios lot in 2021.

The accident, per the TV personality, caused severe property damage and personal injuries, including “the loss of an unborn child,” “pain and suffering,“ as well as “costs of past and future medical treatment.”

It was unclear what their settlement entailed; however, the court documents noted that Tiesi’s case against Parker would be dismissed upon the “satisfactory completion of specified terms.“

Sources have seemingly debunked the actress’ claims that she had to engage in kissing scenes with ten different men during a chemistry test. According to them, this was not the case in at least two of Hathaway’s major movie successes.

Anne Hathaway’s Claims Dismissed By ‘The Princess Diaries’ Casting Director

Ever since Hathaway mentioned that the chemistry read occurred for a project in the 2000s, fans have speculated that “The Princess Diaries” might have been the film in question. 

Their proof lies in the time frame and circumstances that she described aligning perfectly with the 2001 coming-of-age movie. In the film, where she played the character of Mia, the actress kissed two of her male co-stars. 

However, Donna Morong, the casting director for the Hollywood project has dismissed the allegations, stating that she has never participated in auditions where actors were required to kiss their partners to test screen chemistry.

Two Other Casting Directors Refuted Hathaway’s Allegations

Linda Lamontagne, another casting director who also collaborated with Hathaway, refuted any involvement in conducting uncomfortable chemistry reads. 

The 62-year-old, known for such works as “Get Real” and “Ultra City Smiths,” gave a statement to TMZ, clarifying:

“I’ve worked in casting since ‘Capital News’ in 1988 and, in all honesty, never had to have actors make out with any other actor for any auditions nor chemistry tests.”

She added, “If there was a scene ever, and there were only a few in my career, we never selected those scenes to use for auditions. It’s hard enough to audition for something that is new, or even established and we don’t want to make a talent uncomfortable. It’s enough pressure as it is.”

Fans can also rule out “Brokeback Mountain,” even though it was one of Hathaway’s early mature roles in 2005. 

The romance film’s casting director, Avy Kaufman, confirmed she has zero recollection of any of the events the 41-year-old claimed happened during her recent cover story for V Magazine.

This Hollywood Filmmaker Helped Hathaway During A Dry Spell In Her Career

Just last month, Hathaway made headlines for crediting Christopher Nolan for reviving her career following the criticism she endured in the early 2010s. Termed “Hathahate,” critics found problems with her sincerity, awkwardness, and perceived “annoying” traits. 

The drama, which began in 2011 when she co-hosted the Oscars alongside James Franco, culminated when she won an award for her performance in “Les Misérables.” 

After years of hiding her feelings, she finally addressed them during an interview, admitting she was aware of the negative online perception. Unfortunately, the unpleasant public opinion affected her career, leading to a period of stagnation.

Thankfully, Hathaway found support in Nolan, who remained indifferent to online criticism and offered her “one of the most beautiful roles” she had ever played.

She added, “I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect. And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”

Hathaway Previously Suffered A Miscarriage

The Primetime Emmy Award winner also delved into the profound sorrow she endured after experiencing a miscarriage in 2015. 

Per The Blast, Hathaway shared a black-and-white mirror selfie on Instagram shortly after the incident, proudly displaying her baby bump. 

Alongside the image, posted in July 2019, the “Rachel Getting Married” starlet shared a message with her followers, writing:

“It’s not for a movie…. All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”

When asked about her choice of words to reveal her pregnancy during the aforementioned interview she replied:

“Given the pain I felt while trying to get pregnant, it would’ve felt disingenuous to post something all the way happy when I know the story is much more nuanced than that for everyone.”

Anne Hathaway Kept Her Pain Well Hidden

The miscarriage had an even greater impact because Hathaway had to hide her pain while performing as a pregnant character in her one-woman off-Broadway play, “Grounded.”

She luckily found relief in confiding in her friends backstage, revealing that it became impossible to keep up the act “when I was onstage pretending everything was fine.” The New York City native further elaborated:

“I had to keep it real otherwise…So when it did go well for me, having been on the other side of it — where you have to have the grace to be happy for someone — I wanted to let my sisters know, ‘You don’t have to always be graceful. I see you, and I’m with you.'”

Ultimately, Hathaway shared her story because she wanted other women who had problems conceiving and achieving their dreams of motherhood to feel seen.

Sources close to Blanchard recently shared her feelings about a possible reconciliation with her ex, claiming she is not interested in giving her marriage a second chance. They note that her love for freedom outweighs whatever feelings she has for Anderson.

The 32-year-old was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy and spent seven years in prison for the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

During her time behind bars, she married Anderson and spent three months with him following her release in January.

Simply put, insiders claim Blanchard had never tasted freedom until her separation from Anderson. Their split marks the first time since her release that she doesn’t have to report her whereabouts to anyone — excluding her parole officer.

While the media personality enjoys her singledom, sources note her estranged husband isn’t loving their separation. Anderson, per TMZ, allegedly texted Blanchard to express his desire to work things out, but she wasn’t on the same page.

Blanchard Is Prioritizing Girls’ Nights Over Dating

According to sources, not only is Blanchard disinterested in reconciling with her estranged husband, but she is also not ready to date anyone else. They stress that she prioritizes girls’ nights over dating and won’t be found on any dating apps in the foreseeable future.

As for Anderson’s plea for reconciliation, Blanchard, according to sources, feels he is only focused on his pain from their separation instead of her feelings. She believes if he puts himself in her shoes, he will understand that their breakup is what’s best for her.

The same rule applies to her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker, whom she reunited with following her separation from Anderson. Insiders stress that the duo have always had a connection and will continue to spend quality time together.

The pair reportedly plan to attend Jazz Fest in NOLA with Blanchard’s family at the end of this month. However, they remain adamant that there is nothing romantic between them—a claim that matches the former convict’s single ladies theme.

The Estranged Couple Are No Longer Shooting Scenes Together

Days earlier, The Blast reported that Anderson and Blanchard’s romance was officially over on and off camera. The pair were no longer shooting scenes together for the reality TV series, “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.“

Production sources for the show explained that the second season would only focus on Blanchard’s life, which Anderson was no longer a part of. With that in mind, there was no reason to feature him in the new series.

Although they weren’t filmed together, insiders noted cameras captured their fallout. This appeared to be the only scene featuring the pair, as they no longer live together and are moving in different directions.

The morning after the fight, Blanchard wasted no time packing her bags and left her matrimonial home for her father’s place in Cut Off, Louisiana. She also filed a temporary restraining order against Anderson on April 11.
