Kate Beckinsale is getting creative about responding to critics who have accused her of getting plastic surgery and not wearing “age appropriate” clothes.

The 50-year-old actress dressed up in old man prosthetics in a series of Instagram photos and videos uploaded on Wednesday, May 8. She looked unrecognizable as she posed in a wheelchair, wearing a white suit and cradling a white fluffy cat.

Beckinsale captioned the first photo: “New deal. This is all you’re getting. Hope it is less triggering and more what you consider age appropriate. Sayonara bitches.”

Three days prior, on Sunday, May 5, Beckinsale wrote a lengthy Instagram post in which she blamed social media users for bullying her over plastic surgery rumors.

“I hate talking about this because I hate adding to this conversation but I’m doing it because insidious bullying of any kind over time takes a toll,” she wrote in the post.

Beckinsale went on to lament that for the past 20-odd years, she has been accused of getting plastic surgery, Botox and fillers in an effort to look younger.

“It’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person,” she continued, adding, “Whatever someone looks like, accusing them constantly of things they haven’t done, or being obsessed with youth when actually, currently I’m obsessed with surviving loss, is bullying. Please stop now.”

The Fool’s Paradise actress made her red carpet return on Thursday, May 2, at the King’s Trust Gala in New York City, after disappearing from the spotlight in March due to undisclosed health issues.

While on the red carpet, Beckinsale revealed to People that she has found 2024 far from easy.

“It’s been a rough year,” she said. “Because my parents have both been unwell and my cat … it’s been a bunch of things. So that’s why it’s nice to come and see friends and have a little perspective. Everyone’s had a bit of a rough year, I think.”

On an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that aired on Monday, April 22, the 43-year-old reality star revealed that she and her sister Kourtney Kardashian used to be Madonna’s dog walker.

“She was my next door neighbor when I was like seven or eight years old,” she told Kimmel, 56. “I was her dog walker. Kourtney and I would walk her dog after school.”

Emma Stone is taking all of the blame for breaking her Oscars dress.

During her acceptance speech at the time, Stone told the audience that her dress had broken and that 43-year-old Gosling’s stellar performance was to blame. “I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken.’ I’m pretty sure,” she joked.

Los Angeles-based Stylist Petra Flannery, who has worked with Stone for 17 years, told The Hollywood Reporter in the same article that the strapless mint green Louis Vuitton gown was special. “Emma made history in it, winning an Oscar, and she showed grace and elegance when it came to a now-famous wardrobe malfunction,” she said.

Flannery went on to explain that they both looked to Stone’s Poor Things character Bella Baxter for style inspiration.

“I loved Petra’s idea with Louis Vuitton to create a bunch of pins for Bella Baxter, which I wore on a lot of the looks, as did Yorgos [Lanthimos] on his suits,” Stone added.

Stone and Gosling are longtime friends. The pair famously starred as love interests in the 2016 hit musical La La Land. They have also both appeared alongside each other in Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad.

The show Parker referenced in her caption is Plaza Suite, a play currently running at the Savoy Theatre in London in which she stars alongside her husband, Matthew Broderick. Written by Neil Simon, it features three acts set in Suite 719 of the Plaza Hotel, each presenting different couples grappling with relationship issues, misunderstandings, and comedic mishaps.

Earlier that same day, Parker posted a photo of pink, yellow and green flowers to her Instagram. In the caption, she thanked everyone who reached out to wish her a happy birthday.
